1993 Teal Cobra Rebuild Progress

Well I have been doing a lot of work on the cobra over the past couple of weeks. So I decided that I would just start a project car thread since it has went far above what I had originally planned....

This project will probably last the rest of the year and part of next year as real work always seems to get in the way of play time...:jester:

Complete drivetrain has been removed.
Stock block has been put in the scrap pile. (will post pictures of this later as Lee F. can now say that he has definately killed a stock block..:D)
Another stock block is in the machine shop and all existing internals will be swapped to this block for now.

Thanks, fortunately I already had a lot of the items that cost a lot of money.

Like the AEM EMS & Tremec 3550 etc.

The only real high dollar item is going to be the boss block & crank. But the cobra is worthy.....:D

I still cannot believe the block was cracked.

I will get pictures posted in a little while along with the six head studs that I could not get out even by heating the block to the point of melting.....:D

Really it just had one oil leak. A steady stream right out the rear of the block.

Ask Lee F. why it was leaking......I just can not bring myself to post the reason....

It is a good thing that it was leaking though as I would have never have pulled the engine and found the crack in the block. If I had not pulled it the pistons & rods would have probably been caught by the main girdle.....:jester:
