keeping coils dry?
 
does anyone have a trick to keeping the water out of the coils when you wash the motor? i have washed mine 2 times and both times it goes to skipping.:banghead:

No real tricks. I use very little water (I set my sprayer on "mist") and mostly just wipe the engine down good.

I've heard that but never tried it. Does it work good ?

Yes but I usually take my motor to a carwash first. Then let it dry on the way back home. After it is dry cover the engine compartement in the tire foam and shut the hood. Drive for a day or two and the engine compartment will look good when you open the hood again. If you are doing this for a show, do the above items at least 2 days prior to. That way the shine will look a little more natural by the day of the show

This is actually a good practice to do a couple of times a year. It will keep the engine bay clean as well as do away with some old grime if you are not the original owner of the car
