ok so jarod was right they are a pushrod motor, so next question are the studmount or pedistal mount?

jonosranger 06-29-2009 07:17 AM

they are pedistal mount as far as i know

qkjuicedpony 06-29-2009 11:01 AM

Shims wont do anything but waste time.

tayzoid1 06-29-2009 10:18 PM

if i lowered the rockers down a lil like .30 thousands you dont think it would help, pleas explain

EHardy1971 07-01-2009 03:46 PM

Yes,it's a pushrod, pedestal mount setup, and the only way to lower the rockers is to grind/machine down the pedestal (NOT what you want to do!). VC gaskets *should* be the rubber ones from the factory. Me thinks it's either a loose rocker arm,or a weak lifer. My money is on a bad lifter with that many miles.

QWKSNKE 07-01-2009 04:38 PM

I agree. Put a set of lifters in it. That would be the only thing that could go bad
