I went ahead and put the brakes on, I figured since I was doing the cheap factory upgrade I better do it in my driveway, sure enough I had problems getting the brackets plus shims.

Anyway, my problem was with the factory brake line. Where the line is feed into the wheelwell, it is a rubber line, then a hard, then rubber which connects to the caliper. The hard line stripped on oneside pretty quick and I was unable to get it off.

I bought these S.S lines, and while I this isn't the factory way of keeping the hard line, it still looks fine. How much slack do I need? There is some slack, it's not really that tight. Should I buy another hard line or leave it as is?

Make sure you have enough slack so that it doesn't get tight under full lock either way.

Are those powerslot rotors? if so...keep an eye on them, every set I've ever seen crack...reason: chinese castings ;)

:hmm: The suspension is under full extension, but you need to check the length with the wheel turned lock to lock. I would still say you need a long line.

After some more convincing the fitting finally came loose, so there's more than plenty slack w/ all the lines attached.

All I need is some different wheels to show these off, I've always wanted nice brakes :D

powerslots have always seemed pretty iffy to me, I wouldn't buy a set. I guess blanks would have been fine but I wanted something that looked a little nicer, and I didn't want drilled.
I got both front brakes on, time to change the rear pads + line :D

Looks good, main thing as Paul pointed out is that the flex line does not get fully tight during the full turning and suspension cycles.

Are those two piston calipers?

:D Yeah they are. They're for a 93 awd dsm, they also came on certain year 3000GT and diamantes. here's some comparision pics. I bought them at o'reillys/autozone and I'll return my crappy stock ones as the core, they won't know the difference :)
