question about plugs

Just bought my first fox body mustang. It is a '92 Hatchback with a 4 cylinder engine. Why does it have 2 coil packs and 8 plugs? I have never seen or heard of this type set up.

They did that to the 2.3L starting in '92. I believe it bumped the power from 88 to 105... or something like that.

It was done to improve the efficiency of the 2.3.

Most of your Nissan hardbody's (late 80's to mid 90's trucks) had the same setup

Driving a 4 banger is different from the V8s. MAAAANNNNN!!!!!

Come ON CAR GOOOOO!!!!

In passing - I had to buy this ride for my son in Gulf Shores, he locked up the motor on his Rodeo. Emergency Purchase!!!!!

The 2.3 is nothing without something pushing the air in. Or a lot of work on the head and cam. Still a good ride to get here and there.
