Dead spot on the throttle

Ok - on my 87 turbo coupe I have a dead spot on the throttle. When I rev it up, it goes from 1200 to 2000 rpm. I can't get it anywhere in between. I checked the throttle positioning sensor (tps) and the voltage increases as it's supposed to... So, I'm kinda stumped.

If you check resistance instead of voltage (with it disconnected) you will see the dead spot . Definately the TPS

I can't think of the name of it now but the Box before the turbo will cause this also. VAM. You can pop the top off of it and clean it with a scotch pad. The tps is much easier to check so start there first! I'm sure I have an extra one in the shop if you find a problem. A few years ago the VAM was $100 with a core at the zone.
