project Granny Sled
well, I guess I'll post this up now, I have had it since 7-15-06. Not near as much work done on it as I'd like, but I'm getting there.
basic info: 79 ford fairmont with 85,750 miles (original) purchased for $200 (yes that's two HUNDRED) and drove it up onto the trailer! ;) Got it home, unhooked it, drove it off the trailer and down the street, had my 12 year old drive it back home (tense moment turning into the driveway, culvert on either side and a fairly large buckeye tree right there too!) according to the South Carolina Title it weighs 2800lbs... If I can keep it close to that with the setup I'm wanting in there I'll be quite pleased. Removed the front bench seat and found a TI-84 graphing calculator...practically new, put on ebay, sold for $50 in approx. 1.5 hours (total purchase price now at $150), sold transmission for $75, now down to $75 plus approx $150 in diesel fuel to get car and come back=$225 total Parts being used from my 92 coupe project:
Parts I have added
Parts I have removed

LOL...
I don't know why but I like the car and what you are doing. Please keep this thread alive :nice: |
I will, the minute I got rid of my mustang I started looking for a fairmont/zephyr/ltd and my buddy stumbled across this one on craigslist in South Carolina, I emailed them just to make sure the $200 asking price wasn't a misprint....it wasn't and I asked them "how do I get the $$$ to you?" LOL

It will be getting a BIG single here one of these days...(my wife promised me one when I sold my twin kit...lol) and by GOD I'm going to hold her to it!!!!

That is cool dude. I am building a turbocharged minivan with a road race suspension and roll cage. So you're not the only person turning a family vehicle into a hotrod.
