With the top cover off the transmission I can...

With the top cover off the transmission I can move the 1st and 2nd gear slider with my hand and it "springs" into place on both of the gears like it is supposed to do. it isnt sloppy or easily pulled...

This is the model without the tapered pocket bearing on the input shaft.

All I can say is it felt like it was positively going into all the gears when dry...

LOL....

Did you change the fluid and filter when you swapped it in your car? If so that may have been what killed it....sometiems old fluid is all that holds the AOD's together....

K thanks Coupe, and Edgar it does look like a smaller spring inside the larger outer one, that is why I called them a double spring, but your probably correct it is just a damper

the retainers aren't hitting the seals, the inner spring is snagging the seal and moving it up down and some are torn or broke...

I think I just need seals with a smaller...

SVO double valve springs eating up my valve stem seat!! Any ideas?

EDIT: that is supposed to say valve stem seal not seat sorry....seats are fine

I have a set of the SVO double valve springs on a set of worked E7 heads on a 5.0 engine and I notice the motor...

79-86 mustangs used a different spindle, the same...

79-86 mustangs used a different spindle, the same one as found on the 87-93 4 cyl cars. The SVO, Lincoln Mark 7 and 87-93 5.0 Mustangs all had the same spindle.

Get subframes and some torque box reinforcements....I got the mig so I can weld them in for ya...

Other than that I would do the TB and plenum and lighten that beast up some..

Just get clyde to fab you up one, mount the bracket behind the factory gauge cluster trim and have it extend out to make a platform to mount the tach on.....should be not too hard....btw he has that...
