My brothers 79 has a pretty much stock 460 in it. It goes 11.0's all motor. I jsut put a plate on it but we have yet to test it. Should dip into the 9's though.

Some 4 cyl or Eibach drag springs in the front would help your cause immensely. Those sportlines are killing your 60's!!!
To me, the drag springs don't ride bad at all. I rather enjoy the feel....

You need to get the front to come up and get it on the tires. Look more into the front end for now. Your parts in the rear sound OK (once you get the shocks on).

I've had great success using JMS for mail order tunes. I put one in a buddies 94GT with HCI, LT's and bolt ons'. It went from a best of 13.3 to 12.5 with no other changes.

Doesn't matter which side they go on (number wise). I would just plug the smog holes anyways. You can either use a 5/8" coarse thread bolt, or you can put a threaded insert into that side of the head...
