TBH the lack of a BAP sensor on a MAF equipped car is not a problem (the BAP is a hangover from pre MAF days). As long as the ecu is correct for this kind of set up then you will be OK.

I actually...

Is it the firing order? The Thunderbird (1-4-5-2-6-3-7-8) is different to the Mustang (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8).

No, all you have done is disable the adaptive learning procedures. You need to force full time open loop to get the ecu to ignore the O2 sensors.

In addtition to what I posted before, here's another parameter that will need changing;

Signature_PIP_Difference_Value (aka MHPFD) - set to suit 30% dutycycle

There's some more things that require altering for a 4 cylinder conversion;

Engine_Displacement (aka SARCHG) perhaps I'm stating the obvious with this one.

Because it's the ratio of vehicle speed to revs the eec can apply it to manual cars too.

Re: Mass Air on 2.3's

I've done a comparison between the stock bin and the good chip and have the following items as changed;

DEFAULT_IDLE_MASS_AIR
L248A (use unknown)
L248C (use unknown)
OPEN_LOOP_SELECT_TABLE...

Re: Mass Air on 2.3's

In a word, yes. But I'm not really familiar with the LA3 so I couldn't say what to adjust at the moment.
Spotted the injector size change, I haven't had chance to look at the stock vs chip changes...

Re: Mass Air on 2.3's

Done a quick comparison between the working and 'dead' chips, they are identical except for changes to the Acceleration_Enrichment_Table and the VAF_Transfer_Table.

Dale, would you care to share the chip read? I wouldn't mind having a peek to see what's changed. I'm not too familiar with the LA3 but do know a little about it because I've used the code to help...

Re: Mass Air on 2.3's

It would be interesting to see the code changes, the VAF to MAF side is straight forward enough but it's all the little changes like range errors I'm curious about.

Re: Lambse.. Explain

You're right about needing to change the lambda sensor for a wideband that could run from 10:1 to say straight air (the 29.82:1 is a software limitation).

The software side of things gets more...

Re: Lambse.. Explain

This is not strictly correct, it's possible to set the closed loop AF ratio from anywhere between 29.28:1 and virtually 10:1 if you know where to look in the code.

EDIT: typo fixed, changed 0:1 to...

Re: BOV to atmosphere

The only way I can of doing it is;

air filter - turbo - intercooler - bov - maf - throttle - manifold

Intercooler and bov could be the other way around, so could the maf and throttle.

Re: BOV to atmosphere

Probably not, there's no way to know how much metered air is being lost and the eec has no idea of what's going into the engine. Why not use a recirculating dump valve?

Re: New Binary Editor

Currently the 'Item Finder' tool and 'Difference' tool in TunerPro will not work for functions, Mark is aware of this and hopefully will release a fix soon.
