The main limitation of the EEC-IV is the internal clock speed. The EEC-IV are pron to have problems if the car is rev'd above 7000 RPM. There are a few people out there that have been able to change the crystal of the EEC and get the RPMs above 7000. This also has its draw backs. Any function or table and so on that uses the crystal to calculate a certain value is affected. A good example would be the rev limiter which uses the PIP and clock frequency.

In my opinion if you are reving above 7K then the EEC is not a good route. The AEM maybe the best way to go but it does have a big cost factor with it.
