Whining noise from my rearend
lol...
Anyway, Its always something...lately I've been hearing a whining noise coming from the rear of my car when I'm going around curves - mainly only notice it when I'm circling to park or making a quick Uturn. I've noticed I usually only hear it after travelling on the interstate too. But the car is pretty loud and I don't know what noises I'm missing because the exhaust is overpowering them. The noise seems to be getting worse and occurring more often...thinking maybe I should stop ignoring it. Its just hard to take it to the shop when it may not even decide to make the noise! I hate that! I've been trying to read and think maybe differential or wheel bearing? But with differential - I haven't noticed problem driving straight, wouldn't it still whine when I'm starting from a stop? |

Could be spider gears going out. They only "come on" while turning...

One way to check is see if your back rim is extremely dirty. If it is you have a bearing and seal problem. The lub is leaking out and is attracting more road debris and dirt. I had the problem last week and had the rear wheel seals and bearings replaced. Along with the change of rearend lub. Take it by SVPU and let Jason look at it.
