Now For The Inside....

Some of you guys have seen my car in person and it's obvious that my build was focused first on getting the car painted and on the road. After my little setback I'm finally getting things done again.

The floor is covered in Peel-N-Seal from the firewall to the fenderwells.

I put the carpet in this Sunday. It is ACC charcoal mass-backed from 50resto and fit very well.
Let it sit in the sun and cook while I pulled the seats & headliner and vacuumed.

The most difficult part was making the cuts in it where the jute backing is real thick.

I already have the door panels finished and I'm waiting on a window motor kit and door lock actuator kit before I install them. In the mean time I replaced the red headliner w/ black.

Old

Removing foam with wire brush on rechargeable drill.

All done.

Fabric came from eBay and I've got enough to cover the rear package tray as well. The original is too trashed to reuse, so I've found some thin sheet-board at Lowe's and will use the old as a pattern.

The car is quieter as far as noise coming from the floorboards, but with no headliner, door panels, or package tray, there is plenty of noise coming from other places right now.

I'll keep adding to this thread as I progress. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Installed the window motors and door lock actuators last night. Was able to get the passenger side door panel on and all buttoned up. Should get the driver side done tonight and prob get the quarter panels and headliner in as well. We're gonna ride out to the show in Lineville on Sunday, so I'm trying to get this stuff installed before then.

BTW: I need the rear headliner trim piece for a coupe if anybody has one. My original one is MIA and the black set I bought off ebay a long time ago didn't have one. I've already checked Pull-A-Part and they didn't have any coupes. Color doesn't matter since I will paint all the pieces I've got for better match anyways. Let me know if you have one.

Don't worry about it. I found a full set from somebody on the Corral, so I've got it covered. I appreciate it though.

Well...I was able to get everything done I had planned to do before going to the show today. It looks great and its crazy how much more quiet the car is now.

The headliner trim and the map light show up a different shade in the pics than in person. They are freshly painted with black interior paint from LRS. Must be the flash or something. I need to paint the kick panels now and install the center console. I'm planning on holding off a little while since I'm going to get a new armrest pad & trim as well as paint the console and all its parts grey.

Package tray tracing....

Covered.

Installed

I also covered most of the bottom with scrap pieces to keep it from rattling and driving me nuts.

Headliner & sunvisors

Quarter panels
