paint or dye

I'm finally gonna get around to color matching my door panels after what seems like an eternity........

Do I need to get paint or dye.....?

Someone help me here.........

They make a paint/dye specifically made for carpet and vinyl. I have used it on a restoration project on clothe seats and carpet. It worked great and made a big difference. I purchased it a o'rielly auto parts. it comes in an aerosol can in the spray paint section. I used black which hides a lot of imperfections. I don't remember what other colors are available. Also, when doing interior if you can take out the item being painted, do so. Reason being, the paint odor is strong. The car that I did had a real strong chemical odor for several weeks. I had to soak it in frebreeze to help with it, but it was still very noticable. Good luck!
