New Dynonumbers GT500 w/JLT and 2.6 pulley

Hey guys,

I just did a new Shelby again but this time with a JLT intake and a 2.6 pulley. We installed it all on the dyno and got some good results.

For the baseline we made 430 rwhp and 426 rwtq.

With the tune we made 471rwhp and 455 rwtq, overall a gain of 41 rwhp and 29 rwtq but the gains in the midrange were 30-35 ftlbs of torque and ranged from 40-45hp.

Next we added the JLT and I developed a tune for it. This was a nice gain as we saw 502 rwhp and 476 twtq. Another gain of 33rwhp and 26 rwtq, now we're at 72 rwhp and 50 rwtq with just the addition of a CAI and tune.

Finally we jumped in on the pulley, 3 cussing, cuting, and fighting the pulley off hours later we had the 2.6 Metco pulley install. The boost went from 9psi to 14psi, as we had a manual boost guage connected to it.

The Max numbers only went to 522rwhp and 528 rwtq but it had gains of 35hp and 64Tq@3000 rpms, 41hp and 53tq@4000rpms, and 41hp and 43Tq @5000 rpm's over just the tune and the JLT intake.

There are points on the graph where it made more then 110rwtq more then stock!!

I figure a few things were going on here. One, heat, we made about 4 runs before we were solid on the a/f enough to get a run number and these engines hate heat. If we had let it cool off for 30minutes to an hour it probalby would have went to 540 rwhp easy.

Two, the exhaust maybe starting to become something of a restriction? Now this is my opinion! He has a completely stock car except for the addition of the intake and pulley.

Still, with just the addition of an intake making gains of 70rwhp is just crazy, these cars are so unfair! hahahaa. Afterwards on the test drive it was a beast, and you could hear the air coming into the huge cone filter now as well.

Thanks Doug.

Cool

Gen 2 Lightning guys found that the stock exhaust manifolds are not really a restriction till about 500 rwhp, so your theory could be correct.
