My guess is that you didn't lose those bolts -- they were probably never there. The ARP kits are nice for a generic Windsor build, but they lack a lot of the specialty bolts like the long water pump bolts/studs. I think you're able to use maybe two of the long water pump bolts in the kit, but that's about it. You'll have to reuse the studs at the A/C bracket.

Also, the valve cover bolts are not long enough to use, the long alternator bolts is wrong for the newer model cars, and the oil pan bolts are too short for the stock pan/reinforcement bar set-up (okay for use with an aftermarket pan).

I might agree with that statement except for the header bolts which removed themselves.

Oh, okay. I thought you got the ARP kit like Lee and I have used. My above post as refering to those kits.

I pieced together my own front cover/waterpump/intake/etc. stainless kit from McMaster-Carr because of these problems. I had to buy like 50 of the small fasteners. But, I had enough left over to sell "kits" to local yokels, and I actually came out on top.

Here are the sizes for the front cover stuff if anyone is interested - http://www.streetstangs.net/showthread.php?t=9521

If anyone would like some of my extra nuts/bolts - including the "spacer" nuts that replace the special nut-in-the-middle-of-a-bolt fasteners- shoot me a PM. I'll send what ya want for the shipping cost.

We ended up with 110 lbs on the seat with existing springs. So new springs were installed...
