tire brand and size

ok on my way to florida this past weekend i made it to macon and i ran over a bolt and had a flat. Noticing that my other 3 tires will be needing to be replaced in the near future im looking at tires and i dont much bout tire sizes and how much they affect your speedo if any at all. So i have 17x9 in the front and 17x10.5 in the rear. I'd like to find a tire that has a street/strip purpose with decent tread life. any input is much appriciated

I like my Nittos. Not sure what size would be ideal for your car, but I run 17x9s all around with 245/45 555 front and 275/40 DR rear. A 315 would be best for your rear wheels, not sure what aspect ratio though.

245/45/17 Nitto 555's on the front, 315/35/17 Nitto 555R's in the back if you can stand the tread wear. They last a lot longer than other drag radials, but still nothing like a regular street tire.

If you do not go with drag radials on the rear, stay with the 275/40's on the back. Normal tread street tires should look fine in this size on a 10.5" wheel. Drag radials run narrower then normal tread tires which is why you would have to step up to a 315/35 if you purchased DR's

I dunno, '03 Cobras came with 275's stock on a 9" wheel...they might look funny on a 10.5" wheel.

+1. I would stay away from drag radials on a dd
