Wheels/Tires
I wanna get new wheels and tires but I'm not sure which size. I don't really wanna run more than 295s out back so what is the widest wheel I could get away with that would give my car a mean rear look. I wanna stay with 245s or maybe 275s on the front. Could I do 275s on a 9 inch wide wheel? Also Nitto 555s vs. BF Goodrich G-force KDWs?

Re: Wheels/Tires
Nitto 555s > BFGs. Nittos are probably the best tire out there for what they cost. Do you want drag radials on the back or a regular street tire? 275s on a 9" wheel in the front and a 315 drag radial on a 10 or 10.5" wheel in the back looks sick.
EDIT TO ADD: I'm running 275 Kuhmos on a 9" wheel on the front and 315 Nitto DRs on the back on a 9" wheel.

Re: Wheels/Tires
I run 255/45-17 Nittos all the way arround on a 9" rim. It's almost perfect - they bow in very slightly, but that should help handling a little by reducing sidewall flex in the corners.
I'm sure you could do 275's on a 9" rim and the look would be really good.

Re: Wheels/Tires
I think I wanna do 555s on the front and 555Rs out back. Although how many miles would I get out of the 555s vs. the 555Rs? I'll probably end up going with 275s on the front and 315s in the rear with a 9 inch in front and a 10 in the rear.

That's exactly what I used to run before I bought a set of dedicated track wheels/tires -- I'll prbably go back to drag radials for the street though, once I get the new motor built and put in. Quote:

Re: Wheels/Tires
Don't you guys have problems with the 275s rubbing on the front? A few people were saying their 255's were rubbing and that they wanted to go smaller?

'03 Cobras come stock with 275s on the front...they'll fit just fine.

Re: Wheels/Tires
275's can be run on the front of 99-up cars with no problems. 98 and below cannot due to rubbing issues
