What would the rear end have to do with power?

The difference is the heads, cams, and intake.

will the b heads do well with boost?

Yes they do well with boost. 96-98 also had stronger blocks.

how about putting a 5.4 4v navigator motor in it, thats what im going to do when im doing a motor swap in my new edge.

I looked into that first and the intake is so big u need a 4" hood to house it, but the motors run about 850 on ebay and another 500 for a cobra intake swap to fit better. I just does fit my final stage of a twin turbo set up. If u do it u should document all u do so if someone wants to kno how they have someone to help them

you can make easy 1000 hp with a 5.4, but if you can try to get a 99-01 cobra motor. thats probibly going to be your best bet. but balls to the wall no doubt a 5.4 4v

yea that guy did and it was a fox, basically the same thing we have. you need to put a tubular k member on to fit the headers going to the turbo and ect.
