Nitto Tire 555R2's
Who's got them?
Where did you buy them? How much did they cost? How do you like them? I'm thinking about getting them for a Autocross setup/OT setup. I asked around this weekend but no one has run them competitively. I figured they would be good enought to learn on until I want to go futher in the sport.

Both Lee and Shelly are running them on the rear of their Cobras.
I will be replacing my rears with a set once my 555's are wore out.

you don't need a damn 275 when it's an R-rated. Just like you can run an smaller slick vs a bigger drag radial and be fine.
Try Kumho Victoracer, i.e. Ecsta V700 too.

Re: Nitto Tire 555R2's
Nathan,
Get real tires made for what your going to do with the car. https://www.hoosiertire.com/rrtire.htm Deciede between open or autocros, or get a set for each. I have a contact in Wisconsin that buys these used from teams, they usually only have practice or qualifing sessions on them, I was paying between $50-$75 each and they would last 3-4 weekends after that (depending on how hard I drove). If you want his contact information PM me. These tires will make a HUGE difference, and are more purpose built. Just make sure you don't run a Autocross tire on an open track event as you'll over heat them.

you do if you don't want the ass end to slide around. Trust me I have tried some sticky ass 245's and they wouldn't hold shit when powering out of a curve in a 200 horsepower car.

These are essentiall slicks, after about 20 miles (if that) all of the tread is gone. These held on my car pretty well (around 300 rwhp) on long swiping turns, but it could had used 275's on shorter turns.
