96-98 cobra cam options.
Since Nathan has mentioned you can remove the valve covers on a 96-98 car with the motor in the car, I am wondering if changing cams would be possible as well without removing the motor.
In the event it is, if a set of Mach1 cams were found for a cheap price, would these be a viable upgrade to help boost the mid-low range power of our 96-98 air movers. How would it effect the IMRC's or more like how would the IMRC's effect the cam profile.

Re: 96-98 cobra cam options.
FRPP Cams
99/01 Cobra's use the same Intake and Exhaust Cams 98+ Navigators use the same Intake and Exhause Cams 03 4V's (Cobra, Mach1, Marauder, Aviator) use the Navigator Intake Cam and 99/01 Cobra Exhaust Cam I'm not sure about the cam specs for the 96-98 Cobra's because I don't have a pair to measure and no one will loan me a set. But I am willing to bet with the B-heads that you will not gain much by going with the 03 4V setup because of the swirlport/intake design. This, of course, is pure speculation which nobody has been able to answer for me at all. I would check your cam timing if you pull the covers because our motors can be off up to 10* from the factory! My vote is for something like a Crower cam.

Re: 96-98 cobra cam options.
I read further and someone said it was due to the 96-98 having more lift and duration.. i dont understand cam profiles all that well so thats why I am asking it here.

Re: 96-98 cobra cam options.
it had a better power curve and i wouldn't have gained 30 rwhp by putting in an E7 cam

Re: 96-98 cobra cam options.
So apperently the mach 1 guys loose a lil bit of low end if they use 96-98 cams, but gain a ton up top.. would we gain any low/mid range and loose just a tad up top? if the curve is good, i would not be opposed to that.
