Re: BOV to atmosphere

BOV must be before the MAF to vent to atmosphere

Re: BOV to atmosphere

Probably not, there's no way to know how much metered air is being lost and the eec has no idea of what's going into the engine. Why not use a recirculating dump valve?

Re: BOV to atmosphere

The only way I can of doing it is;

air filter - turbo - intercooler - bov - maf - throttle - manifold

Intercooler and bov could be the other way around, so could the maf and throttle.

Re: BOV to atmosphere

The last time I went to the track(months ago) there was a superchargered 86 gt with his vented to the atomsphere, I asked about it and he said it didn't have any tuning or even a chip the only problem was after a wot it would try to die. The car went 10.20s all day.

Re: BOV to atmosphere

He must of had a blowthru maf setup (bov before the maf and maf after the supercharger). If you try to run it vented to atmosphere with a drawthru maf it will run like shit!!! I had mine vented to atmosphere for a while but it was a blowthru maf setup.

Re: BOV to atmosphere

If it was a true 86 then there is no MAF. The 86 is speed density not MASS AIR.
