THE TURBO IS FINALLY HERE !!!!
Garrett GT42-76 This thing is freaking HUGE compared to the T70 on my 93L. The T70 weighs 18 pounds, the T76 weighs 43 pounds btw Italian, UPS delivered it about 15 minutes after you left here the other day

Re: Gen 2 Lightning Turbo Build part 1
That's a nice turbo. A guy locally is putting that very turbo on his 347 Boss-block coupe and shooting for big numbers...like 4 digits. That turbo should support 1000 hp with the right tune-up, motor, and camshaft(s). Who'd you get it from? We can get Garrett stuff still at cheap prices for anyone interested.

Re: Gen 2 Lightning Turbo Build part 1
A little update on my Gen 2 Turbo buildup.
I finished up the rear portion of the exhaust. The muffler is a Dynomax Ultraflo with a 4” inlet and outlet. I used the stock hanger to hold the muffler in the stock location and used the tailpipe hanger in a little different location to hang the 4” tailpipe. The single exhaust tip came from “svted”. I smoothed and polished the tip so that it will match my Boyd wheels and welded some pipe to the rear to make it a bolt on tip using a vband clamp so that it can be removed to clean and polish. I also have the headers all welded up and ready to be coated (no pics of those just yet) But once the headers were finished, I decided to start at the rear so that hopefully my welding skills will improve some more before I get to the front half that will be seen more. |
