Clutch chirp

My clutch or something is chirping like a bird. When I push the clutch pedal, It stops. When the pedal is released, then it starts chirping again. What is that?

throw out bearing.

Some cars make noise, some don't. Its more of annoying issue than anything else..

I wouldn't worry about it until it blows up unless it starts getting so loud you just can't stand it any more.

It is very loud and annoiying! Would you guys recommend putting a whole new clutch in? I have heard that you should go ahead and upgrade clutches if you have it cracked open to repair a TOB. If so, what Clutch kits do you recommend for a street application? I can't afford to pay $300-$500 for a clutch kit. I know centerorce has a kit for like $400. Thats way to much for me right now. I can probably spend around $200. Any suggestions?

See what Coupe can get you a Spec stg 1 clutch kit for.

If he can't get in your price range, the FMS King Cobra clutch will do very well.

I've also been thru the chirping deal before, when I had the '88.....

touch the clutch pedal and it was quiet.........release and the chirp returned.

I just went ahead and did the entire package with a Spec Stage II.......

silent as a mouse after that......

The King Cobra can be had through Summit for $163 and change. It's supposedly 40% better than oem and decently priced. I think it will be the best option for you at the moment for your price restrictions.
