everything checked out great till the final tq of the caps. then it got tight. so i'm picking up some shims this week to take care of that bugger.

Swap the shims around to opposite sides,all of the factory ones I've messed with are always different thicknesses.Just a thought.

I still stick buy my original statement though, the bearings are the problem because new bearings are thicker than OEM. Trust I have done an assload of these jobs

It is important to have the backlash correct. If its to tight it will wear the gears prematurly and if its is to loose it will whine. The backlash specs are 8 to 13 thousanths of an inch. i always set mine up at 10 and never have any trouble form them. AS far as changing just the carrier, that wont affect pinion depth. Take note of how tick your shims are now. It will make it easier to choose what size your new ones need to be.

opened it up last nite and switched the shims sides and realized i had put them in back wards. she now spins smooth like it should.....

now i have to figure out how to wire up the sucker to work. it comes with a wad of wires and relays and no destructions....
