Cool Build A 4.6 Or 5.4 Shortblock?

Ok My Stock4.6 In My 99 Gt Vert Just Crapped Out On Me. I'm Trying To Decide What Motor To Build , But There Are Thousands Of Combos. I Can't Decide If I Should Rebuild The 4.6 And Stroke It -or Build A Stroker 4v. I Also Have A 01 Cobra With A Liitle Giggle Gas And I Love The Torque The Motor Puts Out. So I'm Thimking 4v. Then I Thought I'm Going To Have To Build Something Anyway So Why Not Build A 4v 5.4 Motor. I Would Just Like A Little Advise On The Pro's And Con's Of Each. Also I Am Going To Go Ahead And Build It For A Blower, Because A D-1 Is In My Near Future. I Would Like To Have Anywhere From 500-700 Rwhp. Advise?

For that kind of power, I'd use a 4.6L (bored/stroked to 5.0L) 2V. asilver01gt on this board put down over 600 rwhp on a well built 2V and a Kenne Bell. For that power level, IMO there really is no reason to spend the extra money on a 5.4 or 4V setup unless you just want to be different.

Just about every person I have talked to that went the 5.4L route has regretted not going 4.6L; except drag cars. The problems with space in the bay, parts availability, and cost was a big issue.

For street, I'd say 4.6L. For strip, 5.4L.

First Of All, How The Heck Do You Type With Caps In Front Of Every Word? It Is A Nightmare To Even Try. Good Grief, I Am Worn Out From Just Trying It!

Second, the 4.6 is plenty capable for what you want...and a Stroker version is just a sweeter deal.

Two Words Caps Lock Lol..... I Think The 4.6 Is The Way To Go. So Now Should I Buy A Cobra Crank And A Set Of Forged Pistons And Rods And Have My Motor Rebuilt Or Would I Be Better Off Ordering A Short Block? Also Will The Factory Plastic Intake Handle The 15-20lbs Of Boost Or Do I Need To Order A Typhoon Or Similar Intake. I Will Also Be Putting A Stepped Up Cam In It Also?
