Transmission issue?

96 GT, auto, 4r70W or whatever i'm assuming..

seems to shift awful early,no slipping that i can notice.

Could this be a problem or is that just how they are? Odometer is only reading 140k something miles.. Maybe it just needs to be flushed?Car did sit for 4 yrs in a field..maybe its just gummed up?

How hard would it be to flush/refill? as far as filter and all that and what tips tricks can you guys tell me about?

Also, could this be Tq converter related?

I have not owned a 4r70 car but the AOD's and AODE's tranny's also shift early unless you install a shift kit

as was the case with my aode......2 things

torque converter was not unlocking at idle sometimes and the car would go dead

and........my linkage was extremely out of adjustment........

I have a completely rebuilt tranny now with a shift kit and am quite pleased with it's performance.
