So is this the cause of the damage or the end result? What can you salvage besides the main girdle?

Machine shop claims they can save the crank at cost of $200-250. Forged Probe Pistons are practically brand new, as are forged rods (eagle h-beams), I believe everything in the motor is salvagable, converter is toast far as I know, as is the outer pump shaft that goes into the converter. Going to pull the trans in the next day or so and check it out/flush it. It's only got about >30miles on it since I installed a trickflow deep pan and new filter on it, so hopefully all is good inside Problem lies in the balancing job of my rotating assembly I've got....the shop that did it in Opelika (R&R machine), is no longer in business (falling out between owner and son <----the one who balanced my stuff. SOOOOO, I can't get the bobweight info to give to the OTHER machine shop here in Fayetteville, GA., so they would likely have to rebalance all my current stuff, entailing a full take down of stuff. ENTER CHP.....they're having a "free balancing" special on stroker kits for the next little while. I will need new rings, bearings (rod/main), flexplate, AND a rebalance, anyway....SOOO I could get that kit from CHP with free balance with EVERYTHING for like $1500-$1800, sell my pistons/rods and perhaps crank and be out very little for brand new, balanced stuff (AGAIN..... ) SO that's kinda the way I'm leaning now....

Even with the free balance from chp I would take the rotating assembly to a good machine shop to have everything checked. I bought my rods and pistons from dss and took everything to a guy here by the house that just bought some brand new bad a** balancing machine to have it all checked. He balanced the pressure plate, crank, pistons, rods, and balancer together to make sure every thing was right. Ended up having to take a chunk out of my crank and add weight to my pressure plate on one side cost me about $200 for the full balance but helping the motor live longer and run smoother is well worth the cost IMO .
