Upgraded Cams

In the new engine I am going with the Patriot Performance Stage II heads. I have Eagle connecting H-Beams and Probe Forged Pistons, with file fitted rings.

Here is the question, I am having trouble choosing cams. I don't want anything radical. Just alittle step up from the stock cams. Good smooth idle with just alittle more power. Anybody have any suggestions?

I haven't heard anything good about patriot for the modular motors. VT is a great company to use. Tim's cam's at modular powerhouse are great as well but don't think anyone else here will recommend his.

I would recommend Tim's cams also. Rob (asilver2001gt) has Tim's blower cams in his 4.6 and they seem to work well. (they sound nice too)

You've never heard of VT Engines??

http://www.vtengines.com/

I've always considered them tops when it comes to 4.6 engines.

Thanks for putting me on this company Marc. I had never heard of them.

Now I have yet another option for the cams.

I agree on VT. One of the tops.

Although I don't see a VT 2 valve Stage 1 on their site. They do have Crower Stage 1's though.

Have you heard anything bad about them either though? I would think there might be something said about having them here locally for any problems you might run in to.
