your lingo tipped me off.
"PIDS" and "DVOM" are terms I only hear around the shop! Im gonna throw the possibility of intake leak out there also! I had an 04 model explorer today P0172 and P0174. Turned out to be intake gaskets, which is common on the 4.0 sohc engines. Those codes can be triggered by many variables which sometimes are tricky to pin point. At first I thought it was the MAF today, I reset the KAM and drove the vehicle and checked baro again. and it was ok. So I ruled that out. |

I completely forgot about the intake gaskets. That and vaccuum lines... basically any un-metered air (ie anything on the engine side of the MAF).
