Re: Felpro 9333 head gasket limit......

its a graphite gasket. Its a good gasket Matt. Like Wall mentioned, it was probably something else that caused the gasket to blow since I was seeing an extra 4 psi of boost compared to the last time we were tuning.

As soon as my wideband gets finished I am going to get it installed and retune again while its cold and making 16 psi

Shankin, did you have the 1011-2's on the red car? I may stick with them then.

IMO, the cometics seal well, but not for turbo. My theory is they aren't "flexing" or giving under boosted extremes and thus simply blow out across their layers (shich is exactly what I've seen).

Mine has FelPros now, I think I'd go with ROH, but haven't blown mine yet. Even with detonation...scarry.

Re: Felpro 9333 head gasket limit......

We have made over 700rwhp with 1011-2s. It doesnt matter what gasket you have if you rattle it. I have personally ran 6.36 at 113 on the same gasket and ran the car one full season in the 6.40 range with no problems. The motor is till alive and so are the gaskets in a buddy of mines car.
Also 5.0joe and myself have been 6.20s on nitrous with the same gaskets.

The red car had cometics but you have to have a real flat surface for them to work like they should.

I was never that fortunate with them and the blower. They did good with the juice. I may have been detonating though. Tried them twice after the procharger install and the fire rings came out egg shaped every time

Well crap. I think I will still try that 9333 then. Does it have a crush-copper ring like the 1011-2? Post a pic next time you install one Lee.

More than likely!
