Italian and I buy most of our t-5 stuff from Hanlon. If they offer it for the t-45, I recommend that you buy the how to video. Bob goes over a lot of things such as shimming that you need to know.

Not knocking your buddy or saying he doesn't know how but Ford does not build manual tranny's. AND the t-45 does not come apart the same way other Ford manuals do. That's another reason why I recommend the video.

Thanks Robbie. He's right, I had never had any intentions of even thinking about selling the vehicle until you made your thread StangChik. I daily drove it for quite a few months without ANY problems whatsoever. I had gotten on it a few times and never had any problems out of the transmission.

Had you not been specifically looking for it, it would still be with me in Auburn, in perfect driving condition. Sounds like you might have just mis-shifted imo...

Now now guys, go easy! Remember its a 1996 Cobra and things get old and break, (new things break too if they are manmade). I would imagine there is a bunch of miles on this car and it probably got tired. Hope you find an easy fix.

Nobody said anything about bad about the previous owner of this car, including the thread starter. She admitted that she was doing some spirited shifting when it happened.

Actually, she did make this comment in her original post:

I meant to make a comment in Matt's defense, but forgot after answering the original question.

What she had to remember is that there is no way anyone could know that anything is about to break in the transmission. Lee and I have broken many of them, and they alomost NEVER give any warning. The only way he could know it was about to go out was to actually open up the case... and that would be way more trouble than just fixing the problem.

Stangchick, please don't take all of this as us bashing you. We just want you to realize that the transmission being on the verge of breaking could not have been the reason for selling the car.

I didn't mean anything negative towards matt. I'm sorry if anyone took it that way. FIrst of all there was never a mis shift. If i would have missed it it probably would not have stuck in gear. I've been around these cars my whole life, and come from a family of drag racers so i know how to shift. Fact is i'm just upset cuz i just bought this car and its already on jack stands. Second of all I would trust this guy to build my tranny probably over anyone else in town. He's been doing for a long time, including working strictly for ford servicing mustang transmissions. I made this thread looking for advice on a problem, so if you do not want to help than please don't make this an argument.

by the way i know i approached matt about selling the car so i'm not blaming him for anything. He was really cool about working with me, and he also hooked me up with a guy that i bought an xpipe from. I think that was the worst part though. I i bought the pipe and broke the car the night before i was going to put it on. Please just understand that this is everyone's worst fear when they buy a new car, well new to them anyway. I don't mind working on it, i don't mind fixing it, because it what my family does.....but that still doesn't change the fact that it sucks.

The way I read it, it just sounds like you are taking a shot at my credibility.
